The project

Digital Industries World, in collaboration with the Politecnico di Milano – Industry 4.0 Lab of the Department of Management, Economics and Industrial Engineering and the Fondazione Politecnico di Milano, offers a contest where students can work in teams to develop an innovative Industry 4.0 application using the IoT and cloud ecosystem in the manufacturing industry.

The challenge

The competition, which offers attractive prizes, is open to students from various engineering degree programs and aims to provide an introduction to professional challenges. It is an experience that will be valuable for getting in touch with the digital transformation of companies facing innovation trends in the Industry 4.0 sector. The task is to create a cloud application for Industry 4.0, which may leverage a set of new technologies.

Technical details

Teams composed of students will compete to present their project to a panel of experts. The experts who will accompany the teams during the contest will be professors from the Politecnico di Milano and expert members of Digital Industries World from associated companies.

All participating students will receive a participation certificate that can enrich their professional profile. There will be an initial award for the developed concepts for the first 10 groups, and a more significant second award for the top 5 groups that have successfully implemented their solution! Moreover, during the contest, students will have the opportunity to delve into Industry 4.0-related topics and acquire new skills through specific training sessions.

• Industry 4.0 communication architectures
• Data analysis
• Development of solutions for production sectors such as predictive maintenance, machine monitoring, production scheduling, and energy monitoring.
